Cloth folded on the cutting table
Est. 1974 · Bespoke & made-to-measure

A suit is a set of
decisions, not a size.

Twenty-two measurements, one cloth chosen from three hundred, four fittings, and roughly sixty hours of hand work. Everything else is detail — and the detail is the point.

The house

Fifty-one years on the same street.

Aurelia was opened by a coat-maker who had learned the trade in Milan and wanted to bring the full canvas back to Transylvania. Three generations later the workshop is still above the shop, and the cutting is still done by hand on the same table.

We make about two hundred garments a year. That is the number the workshop can make properly, so it is the number we make.

What we make

Three ways to be dressed.

Every commission starts the same way — in the shop, with a tape measure and an honest conversation about what you actually wear.

Full bespoke

Cut from scratch to your own paper pattern, which we keep. Full floating canvas, hand-padded lapels, four fittings. From 12 weeks.

Made-to-measure

Your measurements applied to a house block. Half-canvas or full, two fittings, the same cloths. From 5 weeks.

Alterations & restoration

Including garments we did not make. Re-cutting a shoulder, re-lining a coat, taking a father's suit and making it fit a son.

Measurements

Twenty-two numbers, and the ones between them.

A chest measurement tells us almost nothing on its own. What matters is the relationship between them — how far the right shoulder drops, how the blades sit, whether you stand upright or forward. We record all of it, and we keep it.

The cloth

Three hundred cloths, four questions.

Where will you wear it, in what weather, how often, and for how many years. Answer those and the shelf narrows to about six.

In their words

“The second fitting is when you understand what you paid for.”

Andrei P., a client since 2011 — four suits, two coats, and a jacket re-cut twice as his shoulders changed.

Next step

Come in and be measured.

The first appointment takes about an hour and commits you to nothing. We measure, you handle cloth, and we tell you honestly what it will cost and how long it will take.
